Let's get to know each other
Hi, I'm Joe Barela
Hi, I’m the photographer behind Bvarela Photography. I specialize in capturing genuine moments and meaningful connections through natural, timeless photography. My goal is to create images that feel authentic and reflect the personalities and relationships of the people in front of my camera.
Based in Pleasanton I photograph portraits, engagements, events, sports, and weddings throughout the Tri-valley and the surrounding Bay area.
I believe the best photos come from a relaxed and enjoyable experience. During each session, I guide you through natural poses while also capturing candid moments so your images feel real and effortless. Whether it’s a family portrait session, an engagement shoot, or a special event, my focus is on creating photographs that you’ll treasure for years to come.
Photography is about preserving moments in time — the laughter, the connections, and the memories that matter most. It’s an honor to be trusted to capture those moments for my clients.

Hi, I'm Sue,
Hi, I’m the person behind the scenes at Bvarela Photography and often the first friendly face you’ll meet. I handle scheduling, client communication, planning, marketing, and all the little details that make your photography experience easy and stress-free.
My favorite part, though, is getting to know our clients and helping them feel comfortable in front of the camera. Whether we're capturing senior portraits, family and maternity photos, sports and athlete portraits, or special events throughout the San francisco Bay Area, I want you to feel relaxed, have fun, and be yourself.
You bring the personality. We’ll take care of the rest!
